This has been on for years. You don't need the coupon for the referral program

Can usually do it without the friend. Bring the voucher and the costco number or phone number of another member and they'll give you both the $10 gift cards

Didn't it used to be $50 per referral a few years back?

cannot beleive that people paying a membership to buy. (even with deals)
Should be the other way around almost.

Coming from France i find that concept disturbing.

You get a rebate at the end of each year for % of your purchases, so the membership pays for itself. The concept is working, Costco has experienced tremendous growth over past decade. Great if you've been holding their shares.

Only for the more expensive executive membership which costs double. You have to spend $6215/yr to recoup the membership cost, that's $518/mth. It's not for everyone.

The basic membership will pay for itself just from the savings on gas/propane purchases and is worthwhile for that alone.

Costco in general has savings on some items but not for others, for instance eggs are always more $ than the grocery store (for normal packs)
